Similar terminology can have very different meanings to different organizations. To avoid confusion and align expectations while you are on our site, here's what SiberLogic means when we refer to:
| Product knowledge is a complete set of facts and their inter-relationships that captures the concept of what a product does and why. Product knowledge begins to accumulate before development is started, and continues to be aggregated and consumed throughout the entire product lifecycle. Product knowledge is not static - as new markets are identified, and new features and versions of a product are conceived and implemented, the product knowledge itself needs to be managed and stakeholders kept up to date. |
| Product Knowledge Management is a collaborative function, owned by the product manager but requiring input from all product stakeholders. It is the building block of every product and the common thread that links all functional areas within an organization, efficiently connecting people, information, and processes.
Product Knowledge Management facilitates the Product Lifecycle Management process.

A Product Team includes all stakeholders in the product knowledge lifecycle - team members that contribute and/or consume information about the product being developed. Generally, the Product Team includes:
- Product managers
- Market researchers
- Product architects
- Marketing specialists
- Product engineers
- Documentation specialists
- Training specialists
- Support specialists
- Quality engineers
- Business analysts
These team members all contribute to the development and rollout of a product, and SiberSafe Definer has been designed to facilitate and process their diverse yet vital input.
